Tell us more about your company or organization! For those getting to know you for the first time, share what you absolutely want them to know in 2-3 sentences.

We are full service: prosecution, litigation, diligence/opinions, licenses and other IP agreements, IP strategy, etc.  As technology expanded, we moved with it.  We are now in all areas of software and hardware, AI, machine learning, medical devices, batteries, etc.

What are the top reasons you joined TechUnited? How can you help other members, and how can other members help you?

To be around technology, meet folks involved in advancing technology in NJ, and see if we could assist some along the way either directly or via introductions.  As a networking forum, it best suits my interests and our firm’s patent and trademark practice as we are adept at assisting companies protect their IP as they move towards the market.

What motivated you to start your company or organization and how do you differentiate yourself from the competition?

I personally did not “found” the firm, but over 35 years have guided it to its present stead and have been managing the firm for over 20 years. Coming from a family of engineers and scientists, and being prompted by my father to go into the sciences, I decided at age 16-17 to be a patent attorney.  I never looked back.

What new technology are you excited about? And how do you stay innovative in your role?

I am a fan of robotic technology as coupled with surgical planning in the medical device world and keenly watching it take hold as surgeons learn that they are not supplanted but rather empowered by robotics.

What’s your go-to conversation starter or #1 fun fact about your company or career?

Our attorneys hold technical degrees across the spectrum and many have technical experience before becoming patent lawyers.

What’s your favorite Jersey bite or go-to restaurant?

I have many favorites, Mosaico in Mountainside is always on the list, but the current might be La Campagnola in Kenilworth or Cafe Emilia in Bridgewater.
